I mentioned in a previous post that I recently purchased several clearance items from the after Christmas sale at Hobby Lobby. I did a blog on the items I purchased which you can see on this site, so I had used my guest bed as the background for the photos. Quite by chance, I had just placed the ampersand deco on the end table next to the bed. Well, I missed it when I was putting the items away and just happened to see it sitting there when I went to get supplies for another blog.
I loved how it looked next to the lamp on the end table. I thought I would do something with it so I could keep in that spot. I originally had thought about something for our master bedroom, but thought it fit so well with the room decor in the guest bedroom that I wanted to make it work there. This is what it looked like when I purchased it for $4.99 from Hobby Lobby. It was missing the 'me' and there was a hole at the top of the ampersand. I thought I just need to camouflage the damage and it would work great.
I happened to be working on another project and came across these burlap flowers. I thought the burlap looked great with the farmhouse look of the ampersand, so gathered up the supplies and began this little project.
As you can see frpm the picture, I just pulled out the metal 'you' and saved it for another project. You can see where it left holes in the light part of the ampersand. So I just hot glued the burlap flowers over the damage and that was it! It was so easy and inexpensive, but what a cute little addition it was to the end table. I love taking something damaged and making it 'new' again.
