How it All Began...

Hi, my name is Char and I’d like to welcome you to my site.  I am a working mom, recently remarried with a blended, blessed family of seven children and my wonderful, new husband, Mike.  I work part-time in local government and as my kids have grown and moved out of the house, only one left at home, I have found myself with more free time to do the things I love.  We recently purchased a new home and I would love to share the process with all of you.  From decorating, renovating old furniture, landscaping, to finishing the basement, design plans and much, much more.  I hope you’ll join me in the journey and I look forward to sharing with you on this new adventure and chapter in my life.

More about Char-Made Creations...

I love to refinish furniture.  It is probably the thing I love to do the most.  Although I love cooking, scrapbooking, card making, home decor, landscaping, hardscaping; refinishing anything is my passion.  I love to take something old or broken or neglected and recreate something beautiful.  It is the deeper meaning behind refinishing something that inspires me.  Ever since I was a child, I wanted to be a stay at home mom like my mother was.  I wanted my home to be cozy and loving and beautiful and reflect my own childhood home.  And although my life has not gone how I planned, I see that God has not abandoned His creation in me.  He created me perfectly and wonderfully.  Just like every piece of furniture I have ever refinished was once new and shiny and pretty, time had changed those beautiful things.  Some pieces were broken with parts that didn’t work anymore.  Some pieces had been neglected and were put away in places no one would see them. Some pieces had been abused with deep scratches and stains that seemed impossible to repair.  And yet, nothing I have refinished have I not loved all the more.  That’s how it is with our Creator.  He does the same with us.  And that’s what I’m passionate to share with you.  The beauty in all things!
Hope you’ll come along with me.
